Poor Mr. Tank

UPDATE:

Tank took his first tinsel poop yesterday. He seems to be back to normal. It’s hard to tell with him because he’s just so lazy all the time! He’s been eating his chicken and rice like it’s going out of style and still snuggling like crazy with me. He knows I’m still worried about him. This weekend I’m spending some much needed down time with him and the family. I hope this is the end of having health problems for awhile. I don’t know if mom can handle anymore worrying!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I’ve spent the last few days in and out of the vets office, getting x-rays on Mr. Tank’s belly. He got into a foil food container and has been puking up small chunks of it for the last two days. He got an x-ray last night and had a bunch of stuff in his belly but that was probably the bread I fed him after work to see if it would help him pass whatever was left in his stomach. So the vet recommended that I bring him back this morning for another x-ray. She said this morning that it looks like things are moving along although it still looked like he has some in his stomach. She gave him some anti nausea meds and some medicine to coat his belly so it doesn’t cause any more upset. I took the day off work to be with him and make sure he doesn’t throw up anymore. The vet says that if he does, we might have to go into surgery.
Only people who have pets or have had pets in the past can possibly understand the worry that comes with having a sick pet. It’s like having a sick kid that can’t tell you what’s wrong. You love the pet so much and just want to make them feel better and they look at you with those big loving eyes and just want you to feel better. They know when you aren’t feeling well and I think Tank has been telling me the last couple days, “Don’t worry mom, I’m gonna be fine.” He’s been super snuggly with me which makes me worry even more cause I just don’t know what I’d do without him. He was a little miracle that we adopted 3 years after we lost our first dog. I swear that I laughed and smiled more in the first week we had him than I had the previous three years after we lost our Meatball.
So if anyone is bored today, say a little prayer for Mr. Tank. He is my little angel, and I love him more every day. XOXO Tank!
I’M AN AUNTIE!!!!!
Ok…before everyone gets excited, know that I’m a huge dog lover and my pooches are my kids. So, that being said, I’m a proud aunt of Miss Holly Ann!!! My sister and her husband adopted Holly from the Franklin County animal shelter on Saturday. From what I’ve heard she’s a lot like my Tank…likes naps and that’s about it. Although I hear she’s less gassy! She’s a beagle and she’s six years old. Jenny adopted her last dog, Bailey(also a beagle) when he was about 12 or 13 and lost him a short time later after a battle with cancer. She did everything she could to save that old pooch and after 5 years finally decided to try her hand at dog ownership again. I never got to meet Bailey but I’m hoping I have plenty of years to spoil Ms. Holly. We are all very excited to have a new member in the family!
Tank and Bella
Well as I mentioned in my intro page, I have two pooches who were both rescued. My husband and I got a dog after we first got married and unfortunately lost him before he was even three years old(RIP Meatball). It took us another three years to adopt Mr. Tank, and I’ve said it so many times, but the first week we had him I laughed more than I had in the previous three years. He is our little angel. We say that we rescued him but sometime I think he rescued us. Bella came along two years later and the two of them truly are best friends. Bella has come with some challenges including counter surfing and a somewhat defective bladder! She’s a big sweetheart and loves everyone! Tank has more the personality of a cat and prefers to kinda lay low unless a car ride is involved. Not sure what we’d do without those kids. Thanks to my friend Jake for the awesome photos of our babies.
